Shello Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 6, 2026
Shello is a native macOS SSH and SFTP client. Shello does not collect personal data, does not include advertising, third-party tracking, analytics SDKs, or a developer-operated cloud account system.
Data Stored Locally
Shello may store host profiles, app settings, known-host information, SFTP transfer state, and optional diagnostics locally on your Mac. Passwords and passphrases are stored in the macOS Keychain when you choose to save them.
Network Connections
When you connect to an SSH or SFTP server, Shello sends the information required for that connection directly from your Mac to the server you selected. Shello does not route SSH or SFTP traffic through a Shello server.
Files
Shello accesses local files only when you choose a file or folder for actions such as upload, download, key import/export, diagnostics export, or remote file editing.
Diagnostics And Support
Diagnostic files are not sent to the developer automatically. If you contact support and choose to share diagnostics, the information you provide will be used only to respond to your support request.
Data Sharing
Shello does not sell personal data and does not share personal data with advertising networks or data brokers.
Data Deletion
You can delete host profiles, clear known-host data, remove saved secrets from the macOS Keychain, delete exported diagnostics, and uninstall the app.
